Elkhart County Sheriff’s Deputies Investigate Public Indecency Complaints

Beginning in July, Elkhart County Sheriff’s Deputies began investigations into complaints of public indecency that was occurring at the River Preserve County Park “Baintertown,” which is located in New Paris. Specific complaints reported sexual activity and nudity at the park.
Three separate covert investigations were conducted inside of the park by sheriff’s detectives, which led to the arrests of four individuals. Three were charged with public indecency and one was charged with battery. Below is a list of names of those arrested and their charges.
- On July 9, at approximately 4:40 p.m. Gerald Miller, 76, of Warsaw was arrested and incarcerated at the Elkhart County Correctional Facility for public indecency.
- On July 9, at approximately 4:40 p.m. Scott Albon, 50, of Millersburg was arrested and incarcerated at the Elkhart County Correctional Facility for public indecency.
- On Aug. 6, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Jack Amsden, 78, of Goshen was cited and released for public indecency.
- On Aug. 20, at approximately 6 p.m., charges were requested against a 48-year-old male for battery.
