Triton Third Grade Studies Agriculture
Triton Elementary School third grade classrooms have been studying rural communities with a specific emphasis on cows. Students were very lucky to have Dr. Leeper, from the Bourbon Veterinary Clinic, join them to discuss what he does for our community, farmers, and animals.
Dr. Leeper was able to show students many tools that he uses on the farm while doing his job. He also shared that students need to pay attention to all of their school subjects. Things that they are learning now will be necessary in their careers later in life.
Specifically, students need to become good readers in order to be able to do many things such as: study to be a vet, read medicine labels, and ensure to give animals the correct medicines. Math is also very important to a veterinarian since they are always figuring out how much of each medicine is the correct amount to give the animal or a group of animals being treated.
