Lions Rush Past Trojans
BOURBON – It was all about the ground game for Bremen Friday night.
The Lions rushed their way past host Triton for a 34-13 Northern State Conference high school football victory.
Bremen piled up 301 yards on the ground in the win.
Grant Klockow scored on runs of two and 58 yards in the opening half as the Lions took a 15-0 lead at intermission. Klockow led the rushing attack for Bremen on the night with 28 carries for 199 yards.
Triton, which dropped its third straight game, got on the scoreboard in the third quarter on an eight-yard touchdown run by Jeremy Jones. Jones added a 67-yard scoring run in the final period for the Trojans.
The Trojans rushed for 242 yards of their own with Jones carrying the ball 28 times for 176 yards in an impressive performance.
Brett Louderback rushed for 102 yards and scored a pair of one-yard touchdown runs for the Lions.
Bremen, which lost a slew of players from last year’s 9-4 Class 2-A sectional championship team, improves to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the NSC.
Triton drops to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in league play.
Bremen hosts Culver and Triton plays at Glenn in NSC action next Friday night.
