Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Saturday, Sept. 6, 6:44 a.m. East 600 South, Warsaw. Driver: Melissa A. Shepherd, 33, Country Club Road, Warsaw. Shepherd struck a deer while traveling west on CR 600 South. Damages: $5,000
Saturday, Sept. 6, 5:30 p.m. South SR 25, Warsaw. Drivers: Audrey E. Roettger, 82, Fern Lane, Claypool; and Stephanie S. Nafziger, 64, 550 North, Leesburg. Roettger was following Nafziger traveling west on SR 25 near CR 450 West when Nafziger reduced her speed and Roettger rear ended her vehicle. Damages: up to $25,000
Friday, Sept. 5, 7:19 a.m. North 150 West, Warsaw. Driver: Scott D. Mehlberg, 39, 600 North, Leesburg. Mehlberg struck a deer south of 600 North. Damages: up to $5,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, Sept. 7, 5:30 p.m. East Center Street. Drivers: Sheena J. Smith, 63, Carter Street, Kokomo; and Kassidy N. Shepherd, 17, Warsaw. Smith was traveling southbound on Detroit Street when she proceeded through the intersection and struck into Shepherd who was traveling westbound. Damages: up to $5,000
Saturday, Sept. 6, 9:37 a.m. East Winona Avenue. Drivers: Steven P. Kuhn, 28, East North Winds Drive, Warsaw; and Laurel A. Shoemaker, 70, B28C Ln., Pierceton. Kuhn was southbound on Winona Avenue when he became distracted and struck into Shoemaker who was eastbound on Winona Avenue. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, Sept. 5, 5:30 p.m. 3501 Lake City Highway. Drivers: Ashley M. Neeley, 19, East Wyland Creek Drive, Warsaw; and Racquel D. Hoover, Lydia Drive, Warsaw. Neeley backed into the rear of a vehicle registered to Hoover that was parked and unoccupied at Schoop’s Restaurant. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, Sept. 5, 3 p.m. North Reed Street. Drivers: Qi H. Weng, 38, 9th Avenue, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Lisa K. Bradley, 46, Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Weng was stopped westbound in a east/west alley off of North Reed Street attempting to back out onto Reed Street when he struck into Bradley. Damages: up to $10,000
Friday, Sept. 5, 2:23 p.m. East Winona Ave. Drivers: Ely J. Wendt, 17, East Lantern Road, Warsaw; and Dennis E. Brown, 47, 300 East, Warsaw. Wendt was traveling westbound on East Winona Avenue when she could not brake and rear ended Brown, who was traveling westbound in front of Wendt. Brown complained of back and neck pains from the accident. Damages: up to $5,000
Milford Police Department
Officers of the Milford Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Saturday, Sept. 6, 9:31 a.m. South Main Street. Drivers: Rhonda R. Thrasher, Water Street, Ligonier; and Phyllis K. Hall, 74, EMS D24 Lane, Syracuse. Thrasher was northbound on Main Street and looked away from the road and drifted to the right where he struck Hall’s as Hall waited for a parking space. Damages: up to $2,500
