Local FOP Refuses Political Endorsements
In a response to several recent inquiries regarding the Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police’s recent statement of political endorsements (see story), the Kosciusko County FOP Lodge #149 has provided the following response:
“The Kosciusko County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #149, does not participate in the process of supporting or endorsing political candidates. Your local FOP lodge is devoted to supporting our local community in various forms which include providing scholarships to selected college bound students who are planning on majoring in the emergency, medical, or law enforcement fields. We also support and sponsor the ‘Christmas with a Cop’ program for families in need during the winter months, while also supporting our local youth programs as a non-for-profit organization.”
Earlier this week, the Indiana State FOP endorsed Democrat David Kolbe of Warsaw, who is seeking the District 22 seat for Indiana’s House of Representatives, and Republican Dave Wolkins, Winona Lake, the incumbent for District 18 House of Representatives.
