Tigers Edge Dragons On Pitch
ARGOS – Two of the area’s top boys soccer programs kicked off the 2014 season Tuesday night.
When it was all said and done, Warsaw edged past host Argos 3-2.
Brad O’Cock put home the game winning goal with five minutes left to power the Class 2-A No. 10 Tigers past the Class 1-A No. 16 Dragons.
Caleb Klusman and Tito Cuellar each tallied a goal for coach Scott Bauer’s winning squad. Klusman scored off a corner kick from O’Cock and Cuellar put one home off an assist from Pedro Monsivais.
Both Warsaw and Argos advanced to the semi state round of the state tournament in 2013.
The contest will be shown tonight on WHME-TV (Channel 46) at 6 p.m.
The Warsaw junior varsity defeated the Dragons 4-0. Eduardo Calderon had three goals and Riley Brennan one for the winners. Thomas Rivera and Ismael Esqueda each had an assist for the JV Tigers.
Warsaw returns to action Saturday in an invitational in Fort Wayne.
