Susan Kay Mock
Susan Kay Mock, 76, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse.
She was born on January 27, 1938, in Syracuse, Ind., to Earl J. and Opal (Geyer) Darr. On Dec. 6, 1958, she married Larry Mock who survives.
She has been a Syracuse resident since 1982 moving back to the area from Elkhart. She was a Family Practice Registered nurse for many years in both Elkhart and Syracuse. She attended both St. Andrews United Methodist & Calvary United Methodist Churches in Syracuse.
She is survived by her husband: Larry Mock, Syracuse; one son: Bryan (Margaret) Mock, Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters: Amy (James) Weeber, Elkhart, Ind.; Laura Mock of Fort Wayne, Ind.; six grandchildren: Joseph and Elijah Mock; Rebecca (Brad) Showalter; Rachel Weeber; Ross and Lauren Koble; one great-grandchild: Jackson Showalter; one sister: Donna Workman, Syracuse; one brother: Jack (Carol) Darr, Syracuse.
There will be visitation at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 801 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567. A memorial service will follow at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the church with Pastor David Henry officiating. Eastlund Funeral Home is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
