Fidel H. Moran
Fidel H. Moran, 90, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away surrounded by loving family at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at his residence.
He was born on April 24, 1924, in San Antonio, Texas, to Pablo Moran Sr. and Rita (Hernandez) Moran. On May 26, 1950, he was married to Belia (Mendoza) Moran who survives in Pierceton.
He served in the U.S. Navy, and he was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., since 1951 where he worked as a truck driver for Pierceton Trucking Company retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Pierceton; Warsaw, Ind., Knights of Columbus, the Teamsters Union; and the American Legion Post #258 in Pierceton.
He leaves behind three daughters: Rosa (Gary) Wheeler, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Norma (Ruben) Flores, Winona Lake, Ind.; Sylvia (Tony) Aguirre, Warsaw; seven grandchildren: Samara (Zak) Yager; Heather (JR) Dahman; Courtney (Barry) McManus; Joel (Tara) Alberson; Sebastian Flores; Marcos and Gabriella Aguirre; two great-grandchildren: Erin and Barrett McManus; one brother: Pablo Moran Jr., Pontiac, Mich.; two sisters: Elvira (Jose) Ruiz, Lansing, Mich.; and Juanita (Gavino) Vasquez, Pontiac, Mich.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw with a rosary service conducted at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 408 W. Catholic St., Pierceton, and celebrated by Father Charles ‘Chuck’ Herman. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton with military rites conducted by the Pierceton American Legion Post 258.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made out to Belia Moran, P. O. Box 703, Pierceton, IN 46562 and would be appreciated by his family.
