Pierceton Man Arrested for Child Molestation
Jack Dean Knapp, 52, 8280 East U.S. 30, was arrested on July 1 on charges of child molestation, fondling or touching of a child under the age of 14.
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, on June 30, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Officer Shawn Castillo was dispatched to Kosciusko Community Hospital to investigate the alleged child molestation.
Upon arrival, Castillo was informed by a witness that he and the victim were staying with Knapp. The witness stated that on Monday he woke up and went to the victim’s room to check on her. When he got to the room, he observed Knapp zipping up his pants.
The witness advised Castillo that the victim stated Knapp had rubbed his “thingy” on her butt over top of her clothes. John Hart of KCSD spoke with the victim and determined “thingy” referenced Knapp’s genitalia.
Hart then spoke with Knapp, who admitted to the child’s accusations. Knapp also admitted to putting his hands in the victim’s pants, underneath her underwear.
Knapp is currently being held at the Kosciusko County Jail for one count of child molestation, a Class C felony. His bond is fixed at $10,000 surety.
