Mary Katherine (Schilling) Riehle
Mary Katherine (Schilling) Riehle, 71, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 9 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
On Aug. 13, 1942, Kay was born in Santa Maria, Calif., to E. William and Marietta (Darnell) Schilling. She was united in marriage to David L. Riehle on June 26, 1964, in Lafayette, Ind., who survives.
She was raised in Lafayette, Ind., and lived in Connersville, Ind., for 30 years. Kay was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of Tri Kappa Sorority and St. Anne’s Altar Society. She also was a member of the Early Childhood Study Group. Kay was an avid reader and enjoyed performances she attended at the Wagon Wheel Theatre and Amish Acres Round Barn.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years; two daughters: Christina (Rick) Coon, Decatur, Ind.; and Julia A. (Fred) Krueger, Petersburg, Ind.; two sisters: Carol (Randy) Harrell, New Port Coast, Calif.; Joan (Bill) Carrico, Waterford, Mich.; one brother: Ernest H. (Ali) Schilling, Michigan; and six grandchildren: Ethan, Nathaniel, Tanner and Delia Krueger, Petersburg; Trenton and Ronald J. Coon, Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson: William Albert Coon.
Visitation hours will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A rosary will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 1 at the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, in Culver Masonic Cemetery, Culver, Ind.
