Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, June 19, 1:42 p.m. South SR 15, Silver Lake. Driver: Travis A. Woodcock, 25, Wiltonwood Court, Louisville, Ky. Woodcock was traveling south on SR 15 and was slowing down due to being in town limits. Statements by witnesses and the driver advise that a juvenile child rain into the path of Woodcock’s vehicle. Though Woodcock attempted to avoid the accident, he was unable to and collided with the child. The child was pronounced dead on the scene. Woodcock consented to a blood draw due to a fatal accident and the Kosciusko County FACT team is continuing the investigation. Damages: up to $5,000
Wednesday, June 19, East 225 South and South Packerton Road, Winona Lake. Drivers: Amanda M. Pilz, 17, Orchard Drive, Warsaw; and Gretchen A. Bailey, 38, West 700 South, Claypool. Pilz was eastbound on CR 225 when she stopped, then proceeded through a stop sign, striking into Bailey who had the right-of-way. Damages: up to $25,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, June 19, 12:50 p.m. West Winona Avenue and South Buffalo Street. Drivers: James L. Walmer, 65, E. Springhill Rd., Warsaw; and Taylor A. Moore, 18, EMS T34C Lane, Leesburg. Walmer was driving north on South Buffalo Street when he collided with Moore while making a westbound turn. Taylor complained of lower leg pains at the scene. Damages: up to $10,000
Wednesday, June 18, 9:40 p.m. North Detroit Street and Lake City Highway. Drivers: Tray M. Castro, 17, North Harrison Street, Warsaw; and David B. Brumbaugh, 55, Administration Blvd., Winona Lake. Castro was southbound on Detroit Street in the left lane approaching the intersection of the eastbound Lake City Highway off-ramp when he attempted to brake his vehicle and slid on wet pavement, causing him to rear-end Brumbaugh. Brumbaugh complained of neck pain but refused treatment from EMS at the scene. Damages: up to $2,500
