WCHS Announces Commencement Date, Graduates
Warsaw Community School Corporation will host commencement at 7 p.m. Friday, June 6. Doors open at 6 p.m. and attendees must have a ticket to enter. Entrances are located through the Performing Arts Door and the west side of the Tiger Den. Handicap seating must be arranged prior to the ceremony and may be arranged by calling the school office at 574-371-5099.
There are a total of 532 students in the Class of 2014. The class color is emerald and the class flower is the cyclamen. The Class of 2014’s motto, which is from Henry David Thoreau, is, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
The senior speaker will be Vanessa Malagon. Vanessa was chosen by students and faculty to represent the class and speak to their motto. She is the daughter of Juan and Elvira Malagon of Warsaw. She will attend Butler University and major in business.
Salutatorian is Dean Katris. He is the son of Chris and Cindy Katris of Warsaw. Dean will attend Indiana University majoring in microbiology. Valedictorian is Grant Carlson. He is the son of Steven and Amy Carlson of Winona Lake. Grant will attend Grace College majoring in Health sciences.
Music will be performed during the commencement by the Warsaw Community High School Band and the Festival Choir.
Warsaw Community High School would like to thank Dr. Craig Hintz for his leadership as superintendent and welcome Dr. David Hoffert as our new superintendent. Our mission is to inspire and equip all students to continuously acquire and apply knowledge and skills while pursuing their dreams and enriching the lives of others.
