Chester Shepherd
Chester Shepherd, 82, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 4:05 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, in Mason Health Care and Rehabilitation.
He was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Arthurmable, KY to Frank and Ella (Wireman) Shepherd.
He was retired from Kralis Brothers Foods of Mentone in 1996 in the Food Processing Department. He enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, fishing and all activities outdoors. He was an avid Indiana University basketball fan and NASCAR fan with his favorite driver being #24, Jeff Gordon.
He is survived by a daughter: Cathy (David) Cox, Warsaw; son: Mike (Susan) Shepherd, Silver Lake, Ind.; and daughters: Cheryl Blair, Virgina Beach, Va.; Patricia Hollister, Albany, N.Y.; Teresa Shepherd, North Carolinia; son: Frank Shepherd of Warsaw, Ind.; brothers: Joe Shepherd, Silver Lake; Jeff (Vicki) Shepherd, North Webster, Ind.; and sisters: Mrs. Cecil (Ocie) Shumaker, Akron, Ind.; Cynthia Harmon, Wabash, Ind.; Thelma Jackson, North Manchester; and Mrs. Gary (Avenell) Smith, Akron.
He was preceded by his wife: Mary Shepherd; five brothers; two sisters; and one son.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday April 25, at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with arrangements.
