James K. ‘Kenny’ Washburn
James K. ‘Kenny’ Washburn, 64, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born Feb. 13, 1950, in Monroe Louisiana to James ‘Jim’ Washburn and Margaret (Reardon) Washburn. He was a 1968 graduate of Warsaw High School.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., he made his home in Claypool on Beaver Dam Lake and was affectionately named “The Alamo.” He worked many years from the mid 70’s through the mid 80’s for R.E.M.C as a tree and brush line clearer and then for many years from the mid 80’s thru 2005 for Kralis Brothers, Mentone, Ind. A lifetime bachelor, he was a meek and humble spirit with a brilliant mind for science and historical events as well as a boisterous and robust sense of humor. He was quick to offer a lending hand and generous to a fault.
He is survived by his sister: Ellen Netherland, Warsaw; four nieces: Kaire Netherland Morrissey (Nigel), R.O.T.A. Naval Base, Spain; Angela Netherland Johnson, Kenosha, Wis.; Stacy Netherland Niccum (Matt),Warsaw; Andrea (Hope) Netherland Wagner, Warsaw; and nephew: Ben Netherland, Warsaw; as well as 21 great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Titus Funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, Ind.
