Rain Causes Cancellations To Pour In
The weather forecasters got it right. The rains have come today and in Kosciusko its raining buckets this morning. Thus, athletic departments have been forced to make alterations to several pre-spring break plans.
The first set of games washed out from the rain are a pair of track meets involving Wawasee High School. The home boys meet with West Noble has been cancelled and will not be made up. The girls triangular at West Noble with Westview has also been rained out and will not be made up.
Wawasee will return to action after spring break, with the girls traveling to Goshen for the Northern Lakes Conference opener with the Redskins and Plymouth April 15 while the boys will also travel to Goshen April 17 for an NLC triangular with the Redskins and Northridge.
Wawasee also announced its home varsity softball game with Elkhart Central is scratched and will not be made up. The JV game was already called given Central does not have a JV program. Wawasee will return to the diamond April 14 at home against Fairfield.
The Wawasee home baseball varsity and JV games with Manchester are also called off with no make up. Wawasee’s next baseball game is slated for April 14 at East Noble.
The Wawasee girls tennis match at Central Noble is cancelled and will not be made up. Tennis will open April 14 at Lakeland.
Warsaw also announced this morning that its baseball game versus South Bend Clay today has been postponed. The Tigers were scheduled to play the Colonials at Coveleski Stadium in South Bend. The game will now be played on April 17 with the JV at Clay High School and the varsity at Clay Field, both set for 5 p.m. starts.
The Warsaw baseball team returns to action on April 16 at home versus Tippecanoe Valley at 5 p.m.
Triton’s varsity baseball game at NorthWood has been postponed because of the rain. The game will now be scheduled to take place Thursday, April 24.
