Grace Star Jackson Honored
WINONA LAKE – Grace College senior guard Juaneice Jackson concluded her career as the greatest Lady Lancer basketball player, garnering national awards from the NAIA and NCCAA.
Jackson, Grace’s all-time leading scorer, earned her second consecutive First Team NCCAA All-American and Second Team NAIA All-American awards at the season’s conclusion. She racked up 1,893 points in her career, including 18.5 points per game during her final two seasons.
She enjoyed Grace’s finest four-year stretch in team history, helping the team to 73 wins. The previous four-year record for Grace was 56 wins. During the 2013-14 campaign, Grace finished with its best record (12-6) and highest finish (fourth) in Crossroads League competition.
Additionally, Jackson’s 254 assists finished seventh all-time. She graduates with the program record for most field goals made and attempted in a season, most points in a season, and most 3-pointers made in a season.
Jackson became Grace’s all-time leading scorer with a jump shot at Taylor on Jan. 25, 2014, breaking Tracie Mezera’s previous mark of 1,632 points from 2000-04.
Jackson was not the only Lady Lancer to receive national attention as Allison Kauffman earned honorable mention status for All-American honors from the NAIA and NCCAA. Kauffman registered 16.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game during her junior season. She moved into eighth place among Grace’s all-time leaders in rebounds (632) and ninth place in points (1,165).
