Doerscher Petition Approved By BZA
Among the petitions considered by the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals during its regular monthly meeting today in Warsaw, was a petition by Richard Doerscher.
He asked for an exception to allow a business to remain on property on Black’s Court North at the intersection with Syracuse-Webster Road in Tippecanoe Township, to allow a privacy fence 8 feet tall in the street yard, not construct a building for the business and display one boat lift, one raft and two pier sections.
The BZA approved the petition with the conditions the fencing meets the setback requirements in the county ordinance, the display is at least 8 feet away from Syracuse-Webster Road and the work is completed within six months.
Other agenda items included:
- Peggy Gerkin was granted approval for a variance to permit the reconstruction of a deck on EMS B40A Lane in Tippecanoe Township. The deck will be smaller than the original one, though, and she must pay a permit fee.
- John Needler was granted an exception to replace a burned mobile home with a new one even though the new one will be larger, and was also granted a variance to allow the old home to be replaced 10 feet from the right of way and 5 feet from the east mobile home. The property is on EMS W14A Lane in Tippecanoe Township. As a condition for approval, Needler must get approval in writing from the new owners of the mobile home park.
- Robert Cockburn was granted a variance to allow a residence accessory shed to remain 5 feet from a south property line on Emeline Street, east of Maple Street in Milford.
- Mary Sturm was granted a variance to allow a reconstructed residence addition to remain as placed on Asbury Lane, east of 6th Trail in Tippecanoe Township. She must obtain a permit though.
- Shawn Hine was granted a variance to allow an entryway for a residence to remain as constructed on EMS B61 Lane at the intersection with Barbee Road in Tippecanoe Township.
