Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Tuesday, Feb. 18, 12:32 p.m. South State Road 15, Silver Lake. Driver: Justin M. Dill, 19, Fellowship Drive, North Manchester. Dill was southbound on SR 15 when he fell asleep while driving and struck a fence. Damages: up to $5,000
Tuesday, Feb. 18, 7:16 a.m. South SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Shannon L. Dickey, 22, West State Road 14, Silver Lake; Chad M. Turner, 28, South Manns Road, Claypool; and John A. Nichols, 42, West Sunset Shore Drive, Silver Lake. All three drivers were northbound on SR 15. Dickey and Turner were slowing due to the road being blocked in front of them by four cars in the ditch when Nichols was unable to stop due to road conditions and rear-ended Turner, who was forced into Dickey’s vehicle. Turner sought medical attention from his family doctor due to sever neck pains. Damages: up to $10,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Tuesday, Feb. 18, 3:25 p.m. East Market Street and South Buffalo Street. Driver: Lamont M. McDaniel, 37, East Dayton Street, South Bend; and Paul W. Lehman, CR 4, Middlebury. McDaniel was attempting to make a left turn onto Market Street, but was unable to swing out wide enough to get his trailer clear of Lehman’s parked vehicle because of a snow pile in the left turn lane. Damages: up to $2,500
Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1:36 p.m. 2517 Oriole Lane. Driver: Roger L. Long, 49, EMS C28E Lane, Warsaw. Long was plowing snow on Oriole Lane when he began back up and struck a mailbox. Damages: up to $10,000
Tuesday, Feb. 18, 9:04 a.m. East Winona Avenue. Drivers: Kimberly K. Rangel, 53, West Jefferson Street, Warsaw; and Connie S. Adams, 47, South Graceland Avenue, Claypool. Rangel was north on South Buffalo Street when she rear-ended Adams vehicle due to slick road conditions. Damages: up to $5,000
