Westview Edges Wawasee
TOPEKA – A Warrior team was guaranteed to win Tuesday night. For the host Westview Warriors, its tribe came out on top, 58-47, over visiting Wawasee in non-conference boys basketball.
Chandler Aspy dropped in a game-high 21 points, seven coming in the fourth quarter, as Westview stretched out what was only a seven point lead at 37-30 entering the fourth quarter.
Judah Zickafoose added 12 points and Jordan Bontrager added 10 points for Westview, which moves to 13-4 on the season and extends its modest winning streak over Wawasee to three games.
Wawasee’s Alex Clark again led the point train with 14, followed by Jeffrey Moore at 12 points, who scored all his on four treys. The Syracuse-based Warriors haven’t won a game at Westview since the 2010 season.
The Westview JV held on for a 41-33 result in the night’s first contest.
Westview will travel to Goshen Friday night while Wawasee (4-13) will also hit the road Friday night for a game at Fort Wayne South Side.
