The winter weather continues to force area high school athletic contests to be put on hold.

WCHS announced that its home girls basketball game versus Elkhart Memorial tonight (Jan. 5) has been cancelled. Since Warsaw is scheduled to meet Memorial in the sectional next week, officials have decided that the outcome of that contest will also count as the result for the Northern Lakes Conference meeting that has to be cancelled.

Warsaw is 9-9 overall and 4-2 in NLC play. The Crimson Chargers are 6-10 overall and 4-2 in league action. The teams will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. in the opening game of the Class 4-A Northridge Sectional.

Warsaw has also postponed its gymnastics meet versus Marion tonight. The make-up date is to be determined.

Wawasee High School announced late this morning that its girls basketball home game tonight (Feb. 5) versus Plymouth has been postponed. The game will now be played on Saturday, Feb. 8 starting with the JV contest at 6:15 p.m. in Syracuse.
