Storm Totals Released, New Advisory Issued
The National Weather Service has now issued a Wind Chill Advisory as efforts to dig out from a snow storm that dumped more than 13 inches of snow on parts of Kosciusko County continue.
The advisory goes in effect from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and the forecast calls for temperatures to plummet to around 15 below zero late tonight and into tomorrow. Winds are expected to be steady between 5 mph and 15 mph.
The good news is the Winter Storm Warning has expired, but the system that passed through Tuesday night and Wednesday dumped 13.6″ of snow on North Webster. NWS totals show that was the hardest hit area of northern Indiana, with Winona Lake in a very close second after receiving 13 inches of snow.
Other area snow totals included:
- Leesburg and Bourbon: 12”
- Culver: 10”
- Plymouth: 9”
- Nappanee: 8.7”
