GWMA Celebrates National Marriage Week
The Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association is encouraging everyone in Kosciusko County to observe and celebrate National Marriage Week, Feb. 7-14.
Sunday, Feb. 9, has been designated at National Marriage Sunday. The GWMA affirms that marriage is a union between one man and one woman and is the first institution established by God. “Traditional marriage is important economically, personally and especially for children, which has been proven by many studies,” says the GWMA.
The GWMA also supports any initiatives or legislation that strengthens traditional marriage and keeps the nuclear family intact. “We pray for our government officials that they will support marriage and ask individuals to vote for men and women who will protect marriage,” noted the GWMA in a statement.
The GWMA also encourages local congregations to sign a covenant that certain steps will be taken, such as counseling, before a couple is married and that instruction and training will be offered to strive for healthy relationships and the reduction of divorce.
