Political Events Noted For 2014
As the 2014 election year begins, Kosciusko County Republican Chairman Randy Girod shares some political events and activities of note:
Wednesday, Jan. 8 – Filing period begins at 8 a.m.
Friday, Feb. 7 – Filing period ends at noon
Wednesday, April 2, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Kosciusko Republican Fish Fry, Kosciusko Fairgrounds, 1400 E. Smith St., Warsaw. Republican elected officials, candidates and volunteers will be our servers. No speeches, just great fish. Carry-outs also available.
Thursday, May 1, at 7 p.m. – Kosciusko Lincoln Day dinner, Champagne Jam, 2517 E. Center St., Warsaw, featuring keynote speaker Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson. Kosciusko Lincoln Day dinner is a formal dinner. The highest office in Indiana is to be elected in 2014 and will be the Indiana Secretary of State position.
Tuesday, May 6, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Primary Election Day
Friday and Saturday, June 6-7 – Indiana Republican Convention at the Grand Wayne Convention Center, 120 W. Jefferson Blvd, Fort Wayne, at which Republican nominees for Indiana Secretary of State, state auditor and state treasurer will be selected. This is the first time the Indiana State Convention is being held outside of Indianapolis.
Monday through Saturday, July 7-12, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Republican booth at the Kosciusko County Community Fair in the Merchant’s Tent. Local Republicans distribute freshly popped free popcorn, candy and, of course, a plethora of Republican information, brochures, and political paraphernalia to fairgoers.
To be announced – 2014 Kosciusko Republican Hall of Fame Dinner, at which time a Republican Man and Republican Woman of the Year are honored for their extraordinary service and dedication to the party.
