Pop Up Shops Closing Shop
A new pilot program for downtown Warsaw will come to and end this Saturday when the Pop Up Shops will close their doors.
Based on a similar program in South Bend, the city of Warsaw and the Warsaw Community Development Corporation worked together since late September to bring more shopping opportunities downtown for the holidays. Known as Pop Up Shops, the city worked with local downtown building owners to utilize some of the vacant locations by allowing local and area vendors to sell their wares in temporary shops for the holidays.
Chamber president and CEO Mark Dobson credited Mike Dilling, owner of the former license branch building at 213 S. Lake St., for allowing the use of his building for the program. The shops will close on Saturday, Dec. 28.
On that day, all wooden home furnishings from Indiana Urban Lumber will be 25 percent off, jewelry from Shanghai Tai will be 15 percent off, and Denney Farms will have 50 cents off preserves and honey. In addition, Denney Farms now has sauerkraut and Blue Lion coffee available.
The Pop Up Shop hours this week are from noon to 8 p.m. today and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
