Man’s History Of Violent Offenses Intensifying
Already facing a misdemeanor charge for pointing an unloaded gun at someone in October, a Warsaw man was again arrested this morning on violent charges.
Jacob William Ponko, 33, of 3203 Kuder Ln., was taken into custody by Warsaw Police Officer Ryan Coble early this morning on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a child, battery resulting in bodily injury and battery by means of strangulation.
On Oct. 10, Ponko was charged with a Class A misdemeanor for pointing an unloaded firearm at another individual. He was arrested on that charge in November and so far has not yet appeared in court for that offense.
Although the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office does not yet have paperwork for Ponko’s latest charges completed, a police report indicates police were called at about 11:21 p.m. Christmas night to Ponko’s home for what was reported as a verbal and physical fight between Ponko and a female.
According to the police report, Ponko and his 23-year-old live-in girlfriend were involved in an altercation in front of three children, ages 10 years old, 5 years old and 10 months old.
Additional information is expected to be available later today and we will have a complete report at that time.
According to the Kosciusko County Jail, Ponko has already been released on a $2,000 surety bond.
