After several months of delays, the Indiana Department of Education has officially released the A-F school accountability grades for schools throughout the state.

Schools that fell slightly to the B letter grade were Lakeview Middle School, Edgewood Middle School, Madison Elementary School and Harrison Elementary.
“Our school corporation received seven A’s and four B’s. Last year we were a straight A school corporation, we have not received a school corporation grade yet but this year we are an honor roll school corporation in my mind,” stated Warsaw Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Craig Hintz. “I’m very proud of our staff and my students, especially given all of the controversy around the accuracy of grades last spring. We now have the opportunity to scructinize the grades and use the information to continue to improve opportunities for our students.”
Surrounding school corporations did not fare quite as well. Wawasee reported receiving a B at North Webster Elementary, an F at Wawasee Middle School, a D at Milford Elementary School, a D at Syracuse Elementary School and an A at Wawasee High School. Grades fell at all schools within the corporation except for North Webster Elementary, which reported a C last year and Wawasee High School, which also received an A last year. (See related)
