Two Cases Approved At Syracuse BZA
Two petitions were approved at the regular meeting of the Syracuse Board of Zoning Appeals Thursday.
Larry and Kathryn Stanley’s petition for a variance was granted. The petition is to allow a change and alteration to a previously granted variance by allowing the residence to be raised and reconstructed at 18 feet from the water’s edge and 17.6 feet from the right of way. The property is located at 1114 S. Lake Dr.
The next case, Tim Yoder’s petition for a variance, was also approved. Yoder’s petition is to allow a commercial addition to be constructed 15 feet from the west road right of way.
The board also granted approval of 15 parking spaces, where the ordinance requires 61 parking spaces. Yoder’s property is located at 1405 N. Indiana Ave.
Yoder’s request to allow a commercial accessory building to be constructed 15 feet from the east right of way was denied. However, the board indicated when the petitioner had a more detailed plan for the accessory building, which is phase two, he can re-petition again and the board will hold a hearing at that time.
The next meting will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 16, at Syracuse Town Hall.
