Stephen L. ‘Steve’ Porter
Stephen L. ‘Steve’ Porter, 72, of North Webster, Ind., passed away at 10:02 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Grace Village Retirement Health Care in Winona Lake, Ind.
He was born on Aug. 19, 1941, in Ironton, Ohio, to Paul W. Porter Sr. and Maxine Hill Porter.
He graduated from Ironton High School and was a United States Army veteran. He retired from Mid-State Trucking Company and formerly worked for many years at Food Marketing in Fort Wayne. He moved to North Webster several years ago from the Fort Wayne and Bluffton, Ind. areas.
He was a former member of the United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter: Teresa (Mark) VerKuilen, Appleton, Wisc.; four grandchildren: Andrea, Grant, Stone and Chancellor VerKuilen; a sister: Blanche Porter Brammer, Fairborn, Ohio; a brother: Paul W. Porter Jr., Grand Ridge, Fla.; and special friends: Dan and Sue Adams Family, Greentown, Ind.
He was preceded by his parents and sister: LoWayne Porter Cox.
No public services are planned at this time per his request.
