UPDATE: Four Alarm Fire In Syracuse
A single story 20×40 barn in Syracuse went up in flames at about 7:32 a.m. this morning resulting in four fire departments being called.
The cause has been determined as accidental with the origin listed as unknown.
Turkey Creek Fire Territory, North Webster, Milford and Benton fire departments were called to 6288 E. Pickwick Park Dr., Syracuse. The pole barn reportedly housed tools and equipment, along with at least one boat. It was not close to any other structure and did have electrical service. NIPSCO was also called to the scene.
The metal constructed pole barn was destroyed by the fire. According to the Kosciusko County Beacon Map System the building, built in 1991, is owned by the Pickwick Park Association. Kenny Bolles was utilizing the building and it’s contents unknown due to the total destruction of the building.
Fire department tankers were refilling at the wet hydrant at Miller’s Merry Manor, corner of Harkless and Pickwick drives.
