Omar L. Kuhns
Omar L. Kuhns, 70, of Plymouth/Goshen Trail, Ind., passed away unexpectedly at 2:52 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at his home.
He was born July 20, 1943, in Marshall County to the late Levi M. and Edna J. (Yoder) Kuhns. On Nov. 4, 1969, he married Lydia Raber in Topeka.
Mr. Kuhns was a lifetime area resident. He was the owner of Kuhns Upholstery and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by his wife; his daughters: Edith Kuhns, at home; Irene (Richard) Miller, Plymouth, Ind.; Bertha (Jacob) Borkholder, Nappanee, Ind.; Norma (Jonathan) Borkholder, Nappanee; sons: Richard (Wanita Hochstetler) Kuhns, Nappanee; LeRoy (Linda Sue Borkholder) Kuhns, Nappanee; Samuel (Melinda Bontrager) Kuhns, Nappanee; Joseph (LeAnna Miller) Kuhns, Bremen, Ind.; Glenn Jay (Donna Miller) Kuhns, Bremen; daughter-in-law: Maureen (Raymond) Keim, Kansas City, Mo.; 37 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; sisters: Wilma (Henry) Mast, Nappanee; Fannie (Albert) Miller, Nappanee; Carrie (Andrew) Hochstetler, LaGrange, Ind.; Lizzie (Vernon) Bontrager, Mio, Mich.; brothers: Ivan Kuhns, Nappanee; Edwin (Lydia Ann) Kuhns, Nappanee; and Menno (Elizabeth) Kuhns, Bloomfield, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by a son: David Kuhns; grandson: Duane Devon Kuhns: and brothers: Lester, Jonas; and Infant Manasses Kuhns.
Visitation will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, and all day Thursday, Dec. 12, at the family residence. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 13, at the Delbert Helmuth residence on Ash Rd. Bishop Kenny Plank and Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will be in Borkholder Cemetery.
