Turkey Creek Fire Territory Reports
Turkey Creek Township Fire Territory responded to two fires on Saturday, a tractor fire and an electrical short in a panel.
At 10:38 p.m. firefighters were called to McDonald’s, 902 South Huntington St., Syracuse, for an electrical short in an electrical panel box. The power was disconnected and the restaurant temporarily closed. But it was re-opened Sunday morning. There was no injuries reported. Fire chief Mickey Scott reports the damage was contained inside the panel box.
Earlier that day the fire department was called to the home of Dan Somers, 11199 N. SR 13, when a riding lawn mower caught fire. The firefighters were called at 4:38 p.m. and when they arrived the 1999 Toro lawn mower was fully engulfed. It is suspected a fuel line failure caused the fire. Damage was estimated at $2,000. No other building was damaged.
