Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accident:
Thursday, Oct. 24, 5:41 p.m. East Beer Road and North Shaffer Street, Milford. Driver: Jose L. Rodriguez, 22, North 250 East, Milford. Rodriguez said a deer entered the road as he was eastbound on Beer Road approaching a bridge. He swerved to avoid the deer and struck a guardrail and a utility pole before coming to rest in a ditch. The vehicle was removed and taken to Rodriguez’s home. Damages: up to $10,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Thursday, Oct. 24, 3:55 p.m. Lake City Highway and Springhill Road. Drivers: Gary A. Mullennix, 73, Naples, Fla.; Gabriel A. Manory, 19, East Pierceton Road, Winona Lake; and Ric L. Hamilton, Mulberry Street, Kokomo. All drivers were eastbound on Lake City Highway when Mullennix failed to stop in time and rear-ended Manory’s vehicle resulting in the chain reaction collision. Hamilton complained of neck pain. Damages: up to $5,000
Thursday, Oct. 24, 2:52 p.m. South Zimmer and Crystal Lake roads. Drivers: Adam C. Wood, 30, North Elm Street, Mentone; and Jonathan R. Capps, 19, West 600 South, Claypool. Wood and Capps were stopped at the intersection when a semi was attempting to make a wide turn. Wood backed his vehicle and failed to see Capps. Damages: up to $2,500
