Tigers’ Pride Band Qualifies State Finals
The Warsaw Community High School Tigers’ Pride Marching Band has qualified for the Scholastic State Finals, sanctioned by the Indiana State School Music Association.
WCHS qualified for State by earning a Gold rating in the Scholastic Preliminary Round at Homestead High School in Fort Wayne on Saturday, Oct. 12. In addition to the Gold rating, Warsaw also received “With Distinction” awards in the captions of Music Performance and Visual Performance.
ISSMA Scholastic State Finals will be held at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Tigers’ Pride’s State Finals performance time is 5:30 p.m. The band, led by WCHS band directors Mickey Ratliff and Emily Mikel, will perform their 2013 program is entitled “Dreamland,” based on the music of Michael Markowski.
