Warsaw Man Arrested For Meth Possession
A Warsaw man is behind bars today after the discovery of methamphetamine and a stolen moped.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, at 7 a.m. deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person located at Green Acres Mobile Home Park. Upon arrival, officers discovered Michael Ryan Nelson, 26, of 213 E. Center St., Warsaw, located inside a shed. Police discovered finished methamphetamine in Nelson’s possession as well as a stolen moped within the shed.
Though officers initially believed a second subject was involved with the charges they have terminated the search.
Nelson was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 8:56 a.m. on preliminarily charges of possession of methamphetamine near a public park/access area as well as theft. Nelson is currently being held on a $2,000 bond.
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office advises that the defendant’s charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
