Charles L. Jones
Charles L. Jones, 78, of Nappanee, Ind., passed away at 1:45 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital. He had been in ill health for 2 years.
He was born Jan. 22, 1935, in South Bend, Ind., to Russell and Alice (Bartz) Jones. Charles was a graduate of Tyner High School. He served in the United States Army in Germany. On Dec. 26, 1957, he married Anna Jo Dinkeldein at St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Bourbon, Ind.
Charles retired from Newmar after working there for 25 years. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Church of God and enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed being called ‘Boo’ by his family. He loved his family and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife; a daughter: Lorrie (George) Tancos, Granger, Ind.; son: Jeff (Kelly) Jones, Wakarusa, Ind.; grandchildren: Jordan and Elizabeth Tancos Camaron and Caleb Jones; sisters: Phyllis Tschupp, Nebraska; Marian (Wayne) Zillmer, Bremen, Ind.; Linda Warner, Mishawaka, Ind.; and a brother: Melvin Jones, Plymouth, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Jones.
Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Mt. Tabor Church of God. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the church with Reverend Jeremy Grueser will officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
