Precision Wire Services Adds Second Production Line
Precision Wire Services, headquartered in North Webster, recently expanded their facility and finished a second production line, allowing Precision Wire to create six new jobs and double its production capacity. This expansion is a 35 percent increase in staff as Precision Wire has grown from 17 to 23 full-time employees.
“One of our manufacturing strengths,” stated KEDCo President George Robertson, “is our niche market manufacturing companies. They succeed through entrepreneurial efforts and by producing a high quality product.”
Jodi Mikesell and Greg Snavely own and operate Precision Wire Services. Snavely opened Precision Wire Services in 1982, with himself as the only employee. The company became incorporated in 1987, and employed five individuals.
Precision Wire specializes in custom wire design for specialty vehicles. Due to the unique wiring requirements of specialty vehicles, custom wiring harness systems must be produced and installed on a per customer basis. Each wiring system is custom designed and manufactured for the vehicle, which ranges from school buses, public transportation vehicles, converted buses and van conversions, and other specialty vehicles. Their products are sent to customers generally within a 300-mile radius, however, orders have been shipped nationwide.
Jodi and Greg did not have to wait long for new orders to fill their new production line. In fact, Precision Wire is already operating at capacity once again. Snavely noted, “Even in a down economy, people need transportation.”
Snavely’s persistence and faith in Precision Wire has certainly aided in the steady growth that the company has experienced over the past 31 years.
