Estill Blevins
Estill Blevins, 84, North Manchester, Ind., passed away at 3:25 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, in his residence.
He was born Dec. 1, 1928, in Floyd County, Ky., to Frank and Vina (Tackett) Blevins. On March 13, 1954, he married Joyce A. Spriggs. She preceded him in death.
Estill served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1968, he retired from Controls Co. of America, North Manchester. He owned Blevins CB Sales and Service, North Manchester, from 1974-1978. He then owned Blevins Produce 1978-2004 and also sold fishing bait from his home for many years. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was an avid gardener and fisherman and loved to hunt with his sons.
He is survived by two sons: Eddie Ray Blevins, North Manchester; Elmer Collins, Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters: Patricia Ann Blevins, Laketon, Ind.; Grace Marie (Ty) Miller, North Manchester; Michelle (Bret) Bechtold, North Manchester; one daughter-in-law: Sandy Blevins, North Manchester; two brothers; Elmer Blevins, North Manchester; Charles Blevins, Portsmouth, Ohio; two sisters: Minnie Nickels, North Manchester, Ind.; Betty Perry, Omar, W.V.; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two sons: Estill Blevins Jr.; Benji Blevins; and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 S.R. 114 W., North Manchester. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the funeral home. Pastor J. P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
