Dumpster Drummers At Science Central
Making music with recycled materials such as garbage cans, coffee tins and plastic bottles will take center stage when The Dumpster Drummers perform for the finale of Fort Wayne’s Science Central’s Summertime Crime Camp on Friday, July 12.
Larry Ford, lead musician for the group, along with Brandon Ford and Doug Laughlin, will perform at 1:15 p.m. and 2 p.m. in the Lincoln Financial Foundation Demonstration Theater. The performances are free for Science Central visitors.
The group will help campers review environmental lessons they’ve learned over the course of the week at Science Central. Visitors and campers will be amazed by an instrumental performance presented by the group using recycled materials as their instruments. Dumpster Drummers is an educational program that aims to inform students and adults about recycling, conservation and the environment. The group was developed and is sponsored by the Allen County Solid Waste Management District.
