Joy Ellen Engle
Joy Ellen Engle, 53, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 9:10 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, Ind.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, to Harold Edward and Virginia Joy (Bowerman) Lucht. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Ind. She received her BA degree in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. Joy went on to receive her Master’s degree in Education from Walden University. Joy married Jay Engle in Mentone, Ind., on Oct. 10, 1981.
She was a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church and was affiliated with the New England Historic Genealogy Society (NEHG) and the Women’s Ministry and Book Club at Warsaw Wesleyan Church. She was a reading specialist teacher for Lincoln Elementary School.
Joy is survived by her husband; two sons: Jared (Stacy) Engle, Warsaw; Jason Engle, Warsaw; her mother; a brother: Harold Alan (Jennifer) Lucht, Warsaw; and two grandchildren: Lillyan Marie and Sophia Noel Engle, both of Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery Warsaw.
