Vikings, Wildcats Receive TRC Honors
The Tippecanoe Valley and Whitko baseball programs are both well represented on the All-Three Rivers Conference team.
A quartet of Vikings and a handful of Wildcats were honored on the all league team for the 2013 campaign.
Valley standouts Tanner Andrews (infielder) and Mason Teel (outfielder) were All-TRC selections. Clayton Adamson and Drake Hyden were honorable mention choices for Valley.
Whitko placed a trio of players as All-TRC choices as senior Alex Stoddard (pitcher), junior Ethan Nicodemus (infielder) and sophomore Zach Snep (outfielder) earned honors.
Stoddard was 3-1 on the hill in conference play with a pair of shutouts and a 1.88 ERA. Nicodemus hit .435 on the season with eight doubles, 32 RBI and 24 stolen bases. Snep batted .344 with two homers, 23 RBI and 15 stolen bases.
The Wildcat duo of senior Ryan Weigold and freshmanTanner Gaff were honorable mention choices. Weigold hit .349 with 21 RBI and 15 stolen bases, while Gaff batted .395 with five homers, 19 RBI and nine stolen bases.
The Whitko trio of Stoddard, Weigold and Trevor Bauer also earned Academic All-TRC accolades.
Northfield won the TRC title this spring with a 6-1 mark in league play. Wabash and North Miami tied for second place at 5-2, followed by Tippecanoe Valley (4-3), Whitko (4-3), Rochester (3-4), Southwood (2-5) and Manchester (0-7).
