Tippecanoe Valley Schools will host “Guiding Good Choices,” a FREE parenting workshop for parents/guardians with children 9-14 years of age.

“Guiding Good Choices” is an interactive program that helps parents, grandparents, caretakers, foster parents, etc. tackle tough subjects such as:

• How to prevent drug use in your family – developing protective factors in your family
• Conducting a family meeting – having a plan and sticking to the plan
• How to develop healthy beliefs and clear standards – the need for specific answers to your child’s tough questions
• Strengthening family bonds – getting everyone involved and actively participating
• Helping your child learn refusing skills and practicing those skills

“Guiding Good Choices” consists of five 2 1/2-hour sessions. The series begins Tuesday, June 4, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Tippecanoe Valley Middle School. The remaining four sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 6, 11, 18 and 20. A meal will be provided for participants at each session.

“Guiding Good Choices” is brought to the community through the support of the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation and the Tippecanoe Valley Community Mental Health Task Force. The programming is paid for by Connecting Fulton County.
