Wawasee, Whitko Show Well At Goshen Relays
GOSHEN – Wawasee hasn’t had much to show from its girls track season. But Saturday became a earmark for a trio of its track team members.
Seniors Jordan Edington and Jen Slabaugh won titles while sophomore Courtney Linnemeier also won a title to highlight Wawasee’s output at the Goshen Relays.
Edington tossed the shot put 36’05” in prelims then matched it with an exact toss in the finals to win the event by almost two full feet. Classmate Slabaugh won heat two of the one-mile run at 5:40.00 while teammate Linnemeier won heat one of the one-mile with a jaunt of 5:30.39 to give Wawasee full marks in the event.
The Lady Warrior sprint medley team of Blake O’Connell, Catherine Yankosky, Jamsey Heckaman and Sarah Lancaster were second with a time of 2:04.33 while the 4×400 relay group of Slabaugh, Linnemeier, Becky Snavely and Madison Miller claimed third with a compilation of 4:46.79.
