Edna Joy Miller
Edna Joy Miller, 104, of Winona Lake, Ind., and formerly of Mentone, Ind., passed away at 12:45 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Grace Village Retirement Community.
She was born Nov. 16, 1908, in Marshall County, Ind., to Orville E. and Nancy H. (Stackhouse) Martin. On Feb. 17, 1928, in Plymouth, Ind., she married Joseph A. Miller who died on June 9, 1989.
Joy was a homemaker and a member of the Burket United Methodist Church. Joy was active in the Scrambled Egg Band and the Mentone Nutrition Site. She loved gardening and cooking. She always enjoyed her family and was noted for her talent of crocheting and making doilies.
She is survived by two daughters-in-law: Sharon Miller, Akron, Ind.; and Lois Miller, Mentone; four grandchildren: Darrel (Pam) Miller, Mentone; LuAnn Greene, North Manchester, Ind.; Doug (Lori) Miller, Mentone; and Deb (Jim) Glaze, Pierceton, Ind.; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Jack and James Miller; a brother: Onel Martin; and a sister: Frances Koch.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Services will follow at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with Pastor Gary Loy. Burial will be at Mentone Cemetery.
