Warsaw Police
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Monday, April 22, 7:26 a.m. West Winona Avenue and South Union Street. Drivers: Austin B. Fryback, 17, West Monoquet Road, Warsaw; and John D. Hand, 18, East Dellview Drive, Warsaw. Both drivers were westbound on Winona Avenue. Fryback said he was not paying attention and failed to notice traffic stopped in front of him. He rear-ended Hand’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Sunday, April 21, 8:22 p.m. Ellsworth and Glessner streets, Warsaw. Driver: Alfredo Rodriguez, address unknown, Winona Lake. A criminal investigation is underway. Police say Rodriguez was operating his girlfriend’s vehicle on Glessner Street when he turned south on Ellsworth at a high rate of speed. He lost control of the vehicle, which ran over a tree and struck a fence, causing damages to two properties. When police went to Rodriguez’s home regarding the accident he was not there. Damages: up to $10,000
Saturday, April 20, 12:29 p.m. Detroit Street and Enterprise Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Trae M. Furnivall, 18, South Woodland Trail, Warsaw; and Christine E. Wetzel, 29, Short Ridge Drive, Warsaw. Wetzel was attempting to turn into a parking lot when her vehicle was struck from behind by Furnivall. Furnivall said he was attempting to change lanes when Wetzel slowed down, but was unable to do so fast enough. Wetzel complained of head pain and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Damages: up to $5,000
Saturday, April 20, 8:12 a.m. U.S. 30 and SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Blaze A. Cotterman, 20, West Lincolnway, Columbia City. Cotterman was westbound on U.S. 30 at the overpass and lost control on the icy bridge. A passenger in his vehicle, 13, Lincolnway, Columbia City, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital by a police officer for evaluation of leg/foot pain. Damages: up to $5,000
Saturday, April 20, 7:22 a.m. Lake City Highway and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Driver: Aye A. Myaing, 39, Bolton Drive, Fort Wayne. Driver lost control on the icy road. Damages: up to $2,500
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Saturday, April 20, 9:30 p.m. South Main Street and East 900 South, Sidney. Driver: Martin D. Zoski, 46, Pheasant Run Drive, Lafayette. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000
Saturday, April 20, 1:34 a.m. Zimmer Road and Zimmer Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Bradley R. Edwards, 32, Dolan Drive, Syracuse; and William J. Sparkman, 20, South Union Street, Warsaw. Edwards said he was northbound on Zimmer Road when he hit the Sparkman vehicle head on. Edwards did not think he was driving left of center. Both drivers were tested at the scene for alcohol. Sparkman suffered minor facial bleeding. Damages: up to $10,000
