Triton Track Meets Cut Short
BOURBON – The Triton track teams were not able to finish what they started Wednesday night due to the weather.
The Trojans’ boys and girls home meets with Northern State Conference foes Bremen and Jimtown were both cut short due to the thunderstorms.
Bremen scored 62 points to win the boys meet, which did not include the 3,200, the 1,600 relay, the pole vault or the high jump due to the weather conditions. Jimtown scored 58 points and Triton had six.
Jeremy Jones led Triton in the boys meet by placing third in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes.
Bremen also notched two league wins in the girls’ meet, which was not able to include the 3,200, the 1,600 relay or the pole vault events. The Lions scored 67 points, while host Triton had 37 and Jimtown 33.
Leading the way for Triton with first-place finishes were Breanna Lemler in the 400, Shana Anderson in the 800, Becca Kennedy in the discus and its 3,200 relay team.
Both Triton teams are scheduled to compete in the North Miami Relays Friday night. The Warriors Relays will be held this year at Northfield High School, due to poor track conditions at North Miami.
