Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accident:
Friday, March 29, 7:05 a.m. North SR 13 and EMS B6 Lane, North Webster. Driver: Donna Holubek, 63, EMS B27 Lane, Pierceton. Holubek reported that she was southbound on SR 13 on her way home from work when she fell asleep behind the wheel causing her to strike an embankment. Holubek, who was escorted to Kosciusko Community Hospital, complained of pain in her chest and had a cut to her forehead. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, March 29, 8:06 p.m. SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Stacey R. Guilmette, 34, Plainwell, Mich. Guilmette was northbound on SR 13 when she struck a deer. Damages: up to $10,000
Saturday, March 30, 3:18 p.m. West Old Road 30 and North 875 West, Etna Green. Driver: Curtis D. Duttenhaver, 39, Edwardsburg, Mich. Duttenhaver was westbound on Old Road 30 when a northbound car pulled out in front of him causing him to swerve and over turn in the roadway. Duttenhaver had a minor injury to his left arm with some minor bleeding and was treated at the scene by medics. Damages: up to $10,000
Saturday, March 30, 4:38 p.m. North 850 East, Syracuse. Driver: Terri Hire, 28, East King Arthurs Trail, Cromwell. Hire was traveling southbound when her back tire blew causing her to leave the road way and collide into a utility pole. Two juvenile passengers were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital on complaints of back pain and abdomen/pelvic pain. Damages: up to $5,500
Saturday, March 30, 6:08 p.m. SR 13 and CR 200 N., North Webster. Driver: Terry A. Walls, 60, S. Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Walls was southbound on SR 13 when he attempted to turn left onto CR. 200 N. when he laid the mo-ped down on the gravel in the intersection. Police discovered Walls had been consuming alcohol and had a cut to his face with minor bleeding. Walls refused medical attention at the scene. Damages: under $1,000
Sunday, March 31, 6:35 p.m. North 100 East and East 300 North, Warsaw. Drivers: Anila Zeneli, 35, Wooster Road, Winona Lake; and Roger K. Hill, 48, E. Forest Circle, Warsaw. Zeneli pulled out in front of Hill causing the vehicles to collide. Zeneli complained of pain to her hand but refused medical attention at the scene. Damages: up to $10,000
Monday, April 1, 1:02 a.m. South 275 East, Winona Lake. Driver: Jeremy R. Patrick, 25, Sandra Lane, Winona Lake. Patrick was southbound when he struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Monday, April 1, 6:05 a.m. North SR 13 and East 350 North, North Webster. Driver: Kyle R. Makinson, 22, East Old Road 30 7, Pierceton. Makinson was northbound when he struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500

Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Friday, March 29, 3:29 p.m. South Columbia and West Jefferson Streets. Driver: Joshua Burkhardt, 30, E. Sunnydale Drive, Huntington. Burkhardt was southbound on Columbia Street at the viaduct north of Jefferson Street when the top of his box truck struck the bottom of the viaduct. Damages: up to $5,000
Friday, March 29, 3:42 p.m. East Center and South Hickory Streets. Drivers: Michael S. Gibson, 30, South Hickory Street, Warsaw; and Florence R. Starkey, 26, East Center Street, Warsaw. Gibson was reversing when he backed into Starkey’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Friday, March 29, 5:14 p.m 2211 East Center Street. Drivers: Sheila D. Smith, 42, S. Main Street, Sidney; and Anne K. Shafer, 71, Poplar Street, Winona Avenue, Winona Lake. Smith was backing west from her parking space in the Owen’s parking lot when she backed into the side of Shafer’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
Saturday, March 30, 11:19 a.m. East Market Street. Drivers: Katherine E. Utley, 19, Deer Trail, Warsaw; and Melissa M. Craig, 40, E. 1150 S-43, South Whitley. Utley was parked when Craig, who was backing out, scrapped across the back driver side of Utley’s vehicle. Damages: Under $1,000
Saturday, March 30, 4:25 p.m. East Center Street and Eastlake Drive. Drivers: Ramona J. Lantz, 78, East Kosciusko Drive, Warsaw; and Linda S. Adams, 43, 15th Street, Winona Lake. Lantz was eastbound on Center Street when Adams entered the intersection and collided with Lantz. Witnesses state Lantz had a red light in traffic. Lantz complained of back pain. Damages: up to $5,000
