Historical Society Hosts Joan Hostetler
The Kosciusko County Historical Society genealogy research library is partnering with the Warsaw Community Public Library genealogy club to bring Joan Hostetler, a Pierceton native, for a genealogy photographic program April 9 at WCPL. Hostetler is certified in photographic restoration and is co-owner of Heritage Photo and Research Services, Indianapolis.
A workshop on how to care for and identify old photos will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The focus will be on photographic processes and formats beginning with the daguerreotypes invented in 1839 and moving up through present day digital images. Hostetler will also discuss the proper way to store and handle images.
Participants are encouraged to bring photos and questions for a follow-up discussion from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. which will include refreshments, open conversation and a “show and tell.” Those who would like Hostetler to preview photos or include them in her presentation can email full, uncropped images to [email protected]. Please bring originals to the program.
There is no charge for this event. For questions, email [email protected] or call 574-269-1078.
