Trine Drama Club Presents ‘That Darn Plot’
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University Drama Club will present the comedy “That Darn Plot” free to the public in March.
David Belke’s “That Darn Plot” is a play about a playwright writing a play that is being rewritten as it’s produced. One of Canada’s foremost playwrights, Mark W. Transom, is in a tough spot; he must write a play in one night, or be ruined. To get started, Transom borrows the character of people he knows to simplify the writing process. However, he seems unable to control his thoughts or even his characters as they force him to confront the character of his estranged son.
“That Darn Plot” will be at 7:30 p.m. in Wells Theater on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 21-23.
The cast consists of Brad Auld, a sophomore chemical engineering major from Crown Point; Brian Boes, a senior mechanical engineering major from Lafayette; Dan Ehinger, president of the Drama Club and a senior psychology major from Richmond, Vt.; Katherine Hultquist, a first-year criminal justice major from West Lebanon; Tyler Marx, a first-year social studies education major from Waterville, Ohio; and Jessica VanTilburg; a senior accounting major from Angola.
The play is being directed this year by Kerri Fish, senior marketing major and Drama Club vice president of Climax, Mich. Fish is assisted by Heather Darrah, a junior electrical engineering major from Topsfield, Mass.
