Four Winds Hosting USBA Light Heavyweight Championship
NEW BUFFALO, Mich. – The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians’ Four Winds Casinos and Lava Promotions are pleased to announce a USBA title bout at Four Winds New Buffalo’s Silver Creek Event Center at 8 p.m. Friday, April 12, with doors opening at 7 p.m. The title bout is between Light Heavyweight Champion Yusaf Mack and the number three challenger, Cedric Agnew.
There will be four additional matches including local fighters James Shorter, Sam Gibson, Ryan St. Germain and Andrew Campbell.
Tickets for the event can be purchased beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, March, exclusively through Ticketmaster, or by calling 800-745-3000. Ticket prices start at $25 for general admission and $75 for ringside seats.Yusaf Mack, of Philadelphia, is the USBA Light Heavyweight Champion and has a record of 31-5-2, with 17 knockouts. He won the USBA Light Heavyweight crown with a split decision over Otis Griffin on March 4, 2011. Mack has been at the top of the Super Middleweight and Light heavyweight rankings for the last several years. He will defend his belt against Chicago’s Cedric Agnew, who is 25-0-0, with 13 knockouts. Agnew is a former National Golden Gloves champion who compiled an amateur record of 105-10 before turning pro in 2007. A weigh-in for the title bout will be held at Four Winds New Buffalo on Thursday, April 11.
The undercard will include four bouts featuring heavyweight James Shorter of Elkhart, Ind., who is 3-1-0, with 3 knockouts and an amateur record of 186-15 and was the number 3 seed at the 2012 Olympic Trials; welterweight Sam Gibson of Elkhart, Ind., who is 4-5-2, with 2 knockouts; and Ryan St. Germain of Elkhart, Ind., who is 2-6-0 with 2 knockouts. Making his pro debut on the undercard is Andrew Campbell, of Osceola, Ind., who is a Pokagon Citizen. He was 2012 Indiana Golden Gloves Champion and will be competing as a junior welterweight as a pro.
