Fort Wayne Ballet Presents Cinderella
Dreams really do come true as the Fort Wayne Ballet presents its spring collaboration with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Cinderella, March 22, through 24, at the Arts United Center, 303 E. Main St.
With four performances, all of which feature the talented orchestra led by Assistant Conductor Sameer Patel, Cinderella is a classic tale sure to charm both children and adults alike. With two evening performances and two matinees — at 8 p.m. at March 22-23, at 2:30 p.m. March 23-24 — the ballet features the enchanting Sergei Prokofiev’s score which first debuted in 1945 with the Bolshoi Ballet, as well as the beloved rags to riches story of young Cinderella as she breaks free from her evil stepfamily with the help of her Fairy Godmother and finds her Prince Charming.
Fort Wayne Ballet breathes new life into the classic fairytale with the slapstick comedy of the ugly stepsisters, the mesmerizing transformation of Cinderella for the ball, and of course the traditional happy ending.
Following the matinee performances, guests have the opportunity to attend a Glass Slipper Party. This is an opportunity to meet the dancers, enjoy the beautifully designed costumes up close and receive a special treat.
Also, immediately following the Friday opening night performance, there will a champagne and dessert reception in the Ian Rolland Gallery. Adults and children are welcome, with food and champagne being provided.
Tickets for Cinderella are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and youth, and $15 for children. Premium seating is available for $5 more per ticket, and tickets for the Glass Slipper Parties are $8.
Additionally, Opening Night Champagne and Dessert Reception tickets can be purchased for $10 for adults and $5 for children.
